The Men of The Olympics

31 Jul

The London Summer Olympics are among us. Of course I appreciate the nature of the games, and all it represents; the best athletes in the World competing for their nations at an international level. But what I can appreciate even more are the rock hard abs, chiselled arms, and amazing smiles of all the sexy men from all over the World.

Go Canada Go!!! (as long as you’re in a speedo)

Ivy League here I come?

This is just awesome.

However if I had it my way, I would be doing this right now. If Paris can’t inspire you, I’m not sure what could.

Daphne Koller speaks at TEDGlobal 2012

It would cost you a minimum of $37,000 to enroll for a year at one of the top 10 schools in the United States, according to the U.S. News & World Report. However, anyone with a computer will now be able to take courses from half of those schools … for free.

At TEDGlobal 2012, Stanford University professor Daphne Koller introduced us to Coursera.org, an effort to bring rigorous college courses online to anyone who wants them. At the time, Coursera offered classes from Princeton University, the University of Michigan, Stanford University and the University of Pennsylvania. However, today, Coursera announced partnerships with seven more top colleges in the United States: California Institute of Technology, Duke University, Georgia Tech, the University of Virginia, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Rice University, the University of California San Francisco, the University of Washington, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Job Hunting 2.0

10 Jul

As I start on my quest for corporate employment (yes I’m starting to feel a sense of entitlement after 6 years of schooling), I am really questioning traditional methods of Job Hunting. Of course with the boom of Social Networking sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, there are bound to be some changes to landing that first job. Here is an awesome article I found, on an even better website which was founded by two passionate, driven, and successful Canadian businesswomen.

Golden Girl Finance was born out of the notion that too many smart women let their financial situation be ignored, swept under the rug, or dictated by others.

Happy 100th birthday!!!!!!!!

5 Jul

Tomorrow marks the first day of the centennial celebration of the “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”. 10 days of Budweiser, Bullriding, Boots and Babes. Not gonna lie, Stampede season is better than Christmas, but with excitement comes a little bit of anxiety for how aggressive this party truly is. I’m not the only one with these feelings, as CNN International ranked the Calgary Stampede as the fifth best place to party like a rockstar for 2012. GIDDY UP CALGARY, this is going to be one hell of a celebration.

ibiza come to me!!

3 Jul

If I could be anywhere this summer, Ibiza would top my list. Undoubtedly their parties are incomparable to anything else in the world. One day I will finally make it there, but until then I can check-in via online radio. With music around the clock, it’s definitely worth checking out when you’re TL to pick your own playlist. ♥
